Research Into Film Magazine.

I have been thinking about which magazine masthead I want to use to accompany my film ''TimeShift'' and have come up with the idea of using ''Empire'' as I think it relates to my film very well. Firstly, a lot of ''Empires'' front covers consist of a ''villain'' which challenges the usual conventions of outlining the hero. I think by using the villain on the front of my magazine, it creates intrigue and question. If the audience believe that the villain has all dominance they are then going to feel un-secure. I also link the way that binary oppositions are used in darth vaders face to reveal something about his character. By using different colour connotations in this specific magazine have given me ideas to incorporate into my own magazine.
I finally, like the fact that he is staring right into the camera breaking the fourth wall making the audience feel again on edge and as if they are involved in the magazine themselves.
